When I first saw this stamp set – Ocean Shell-fie – from Lawn Fawn in their Summer release I just had to have it. I love creating underwater scenes and this set is awesome for that. 🐠
I have to thank Scrap of Paradise for ordering this in from the latest Lawn Fawn release just for me!
I created the waves with Distress Oxides (Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire) after making stencils from my Lawn Fawn Stitched Wave Borders. I love being able to turn dies into stencils to get more use out of them!
I created the sand using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders and my Scatter Straw and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. For the sand I added some cut out sand areas using the Sandy Beach Accents die.
For both the water and sand areas I added water and white water colour paint splatters as well as some in the Distress colours I used for some interest.
I stamped, copic coloured and added accents with a white gel pen to all of the elements and adhered them to the background – some with liquid glue, others with foam tape and the smaller octopus with an action wobble.
I added some glossy accents to some of my critters and elements as well as to the water background for a bubble effect. To finish the card I added some clear sequins.
This was a work of love as it took me several hours to complete this card! I am entering this card into Lawn Fawn’s Challenge 81 – Summertime Fun – I have always wanted to be “spotted” by Lawn Fawn so wish me luck!
