Magic Picture Changer with Toucans

Today I am sharing an interactive card I created using the Toucan Do This Clear Stamp Set from Time for Tea Designs. I love the sentiments that come with this stamp set.

The Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer die set is new to me so I watched several videos to learn how to use it. It comes with several pieces so the how to videos from Lawn Fawn helped a lot. The tricky part is to align the first and second scenes so that they work when you slide the scene from one to the next.

I also discovered that for me, it helped to cut a sliver off of the bottom of the internal sliding mechanism (once it was die cut) so that when you are pulling and pushing the slider it doesn’t get pushed too far down and become disconnected from the ‘up’ scene. I also added tape at the bottom for the same reason – I initially used glue but it there isn’t a lot of room at the bottom so this stopped the mechanism from being able to go all the way down.

I also don’t have the add on die set so I re-die cut the top pane and cut out the center slot area and used this to create my own ‘cover up’ part to go on top. I used Mermaid Lagoon (square frame), Mowed Lawn (top pane) and Squeezed Lemonade (sentiment banner) Distress Oxide inks on the card for colour. I added some water droplets to the blue and the green sections for some interest, I always love the look of this on cards.

I will be using this die a lot so I think it will get easier each time I create a card with it! Below I have an animation of how the card looks in action! I hope you like it.
