Welcome to Annalisa’s cards

Well, hello 2019 let’s try this blogging thing!

I have been designing cards since I was a teenager. It is my time to flex my creative side and make something with my hands from scratch.

Over the years I have seen and followed many blogs getting inspiration and admiring their work so this year I have decided to take the plunge! Thanks to the encouragement and support of great friends here we go!

Underwater Pop-Up Card

I created this fun underwater pop-up card using several Lawn Fawn products (You Are Sublime, So Jelly, Scalloped box card pop-up, Stitched Hillside Borders) as well as Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink to add some colour.

I started by inking up 80 lb card stock with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide (they go on paper so much easier than Distress Inks do!) I then sprinkled some water on top and dabbed it off with paper towel. Next, I die cut the pop-up card using my Scalloped box card pop-up die. I used one of the panel cut outs from the set to make an extra cut out in the front of the box to create the see-through underwater scene. I stuck the box elements together using double sided tape.

For the cute critters I stamped the images (with Ink on 3’s Blackout Detail Ink which is copic friendly), coloured them with copics and die cut them. I stuck them all on with liquid adhesive. For the ‘floating’ fish I used some clear plastic that I kept from some packaging. The sand bar was made from one of the Stitched Hillside Border dies and I coloured it with copics and added little dots to help create the appearance of sand.

This was certainly a labour of love but I had such a fun time making this despite the hours it took me to make!
